Extending Vocabulary Activity

My Reflection:
I was learning to extend my knowledge of vocabulary. I found finding the word in the book hard because there were a lot of words that I didn't understand.  I found searching the meaning hard because there were so many to chose from. I need to work on choosing the right meaning.

2D and 3D Shapes

My Reflection:
I was learning about the different features of 2D and 3D shapes. I found it easy to put in the answers in about the edges, faces and vertices. I found the diamond shape quite tricky. I want to work on knowing more about different 3D shapes.

Retelling Activity

My Reflection:
I was learning to retell a story. I found it easy to know what to write about the story. I found it easy to write a little about the characters. I found it a bit tricky to write about the setting. This is something that I want to work on.

The Memory Tree

My Reflection: I was learning to summarise information about the book. I found it easy to put the answers in for the comprehension questions. I found it hard to do the 'Use three of these words in a sentence' part. I need to work on trying to put the definitions into my own words.

Suffixes

My Reflection:
I was learning about suffixes. I found it easy to write what a suffix is. I found it hard to write what a suffix does. I need to work on choosing three suffixes and describing what is does and using them in a sentence.

Fractured Fairytale

My Refection:
I was learning to compare a traditional fairy tale with a fractured fairy tale. I had to compare the characters,the settings and the plot. I found it easy to write what about the setting in the fractured fairy tale because we watched it. I found it hard to write about how the two fairy tales were similar. I want to work on adding more detail into my writing.

Their, They're and There Homophones

My Reflection:
I was learning my there, their and they're homophones. Homophones are words that sound the same but mean different things. I found I found it hard to know what word to write in the box in each sentence. I want to work on my homophones.

Reading Around the World Challenge

My Reflection: I was learning to research a country that was in the Olympics using skimming and scanning to help me. I think I need more work on using skimming and scanning. I found it easy to research the population of the Netherlands. I found it hard to search for the information I needed for the two interesting facts. I need to be working on putting what I research into my own words. I need to work on my researching skills.
